The duties of the Police Force include preventing and detecting crimes and offences. According to the Police Force Ordinance and other relevant laws and regulations, any police officer may, in specified circumstances, enter into any place(including hospitals) to perform his/her lawful duties(e.g. to exercise powers of stop, search, arrest and search etc). If the police officer performs his/ her duties pursuant to powers granted by the relevant laws, he/she shall not be regarded as causing nuisance, behaving in disorderly manner etc under the Hospital Authority Bylaws.
