You! I am just swearing and did not touch anyone. What laws am I breaking?
Under Section 17B(2) of the Public Order Ordinance (Cap. 245), any person who in any public place behaves in a noisy or disorderly manner, or uses, or distributes or displays any writing containing, threatening, abusive or insulting words, with intent to provoke a breach of the peace, shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable to imprisonment for 1 year.
Furthermore, under Section 18, when 3 or more persons, assembled together, conduct themselves in a disorderly, intimidating, insulting or provocative manner intended or likely to cause any person reasonably to fear that the persons so assembled will commit a breach of the peace, they are an unlawful assembly and shall be liable on conviction on indictment, to imprisonment for 5 years.
