Do you think you are being righteous?
Actually, under Sections 8(1)(c) of the Elections (Corrupt and Illegal Conduct) Ordinance (Cap. 554), a person engages in corrupt conduct at an election, if he uses force or duress against another person because that other person (or a third person) stood as a candidate at the election.
If convicted on indictment, this can result in a fine of HKD500,000 and to imprisonment for 7 years.
Alternatively, this action can potentially be “criminal damage” (up to 10 years imprisonment), or “disorder in a public place” (up to 1 year imprisonment).
Please. Respect yourself. Respect the Rule of Law. Respect fairness of elections.
