Doxxing and cyberbullying -what laws are they breaking?
Any person who commits an act of doxxing and cyberbullying may have contravened section 64 of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) and other criminal provisions. The maximum penalty for contravening section 64 is a fine of HK$1,000,000 and imprisonment for 5 years. The affected person suffering from psychological harm may also bring civil claim against the party involved.
